Summary
Linux began as a student project to create a Unix-like operating system for personal computers. Linus Torvalds started with a multitasking program written in assembly language, and later expanded it with the help of his friend Lars Wirzenius.

Source: A vegan leather made of dormant fungi can repair itself
Summary
Researchers from Vrije Universiteit Brussel have found a new way to make self-healing leather using mushrooms’ threadlike structures called mycelium. Known as mycelium leather, it is already an emerging product, but, until now, has been produced in a way that extinguishes fungal growth. The team tweaked the production conditions to allow the mycelium to retain its ability to regrow if damaged.
