Texas is known for its invasive species, and the latest to expand its territory is the hammerhead worm, a slimy invertebrate that secretes tetrodotoxin. Reaching up to a foot in length, the larger hammerhead species is known to eat earthworms, which could have a significant impact on soil health. Both species can be found in many parts of Texas.
